Bloghopping

Hi everyone, as i was bloghopping this evening I came across this post regarding World Alzheimers Day on Cammie's Blog. She is asking card makers out there to make a card and give/send it to an Alzheimers caretaker. For incentive she is offering the most incredible blog candy I have ever seen, $1000 worth of stamping goodies. Truly amazing.

Here is the card that I will be sending to an Alzheimers caretaker tomorrow. I started with a Bravo Burgundy card base and a layer of Whisper White then a piece of Hidden Garden DSP on top. I used one stamp from each of these sets: Always, Cute and Curly, and Live Your Dream. The ribbon is satin Kiwi Kiss/ Very Vanilla. I hope it brightens soemone's day.

I challenge you to make a card and send it on to bring a smile to a special person.

Happy stamping!

Cuddle up with Tammy

Over at Sharon's "No Time to Stamp" blog, she has challenged stampers to check out Tammy's blog "Stamp Happy" and be inspired. tammy's style is described as cuddly, I describe it as beautiful! Then post yoru card to her blog. So here is my entry. Is it cuddly???? I don't know but I do think that it is warm and friendly and inviting.

From the entries, Sharon will use Random.org to pick one to be November's Guest Designer on her blog. What an honor that would be. Her projects are just beautiful.

For this card, I used Red Riding Hood and Kiwi Kiss with Very Vanilla. The background is the En Francais stamp, plus some little flowers and sponging along the edges. The stamp set I used here is Live Your Dream. Simple embellishments are a button from the Button Bouquet pack tied on with linen thread.

Thanks for visiting!

Time for class!

Hi everyone, gosh, it's been a long time since I posted. It truly amazes me that so many bloggers post everyday WITH a project. Can you believe that school has started???? Summer seemed awfully short.

Since the school season has begun it was time for me to put together my class schedule from now to the end of the year. Check it out at http://www.desiree.stampinup.net/. The first class is called "Back to 'Cool - Teen class". We will cover a compostion book, add a ribbon bookmark to it, and make a matching pen. Plus we'll put together a cute little post-it note holder and a luggage tag for their back pack. These are not the colors we'll be using in class. I've ordered the Rainbow Sherbet Designer Series Paper which are bright blues and greens and whites.

The paper I used here has been retired for years but I liked how bright it is and thought it would work great for my sample. I'll be giving this to my friend's daughter at Christmas.

I have made several cards lately. This one was for a coworker to give his wife on their anniversary today. The cardstock is Sage Shadow and Chocolate Chip. I use a piece of printed cardstock from My Mind's Eye. The flowers came from three different sources: white is from Paperbilities, chocolate is from Stampin Up's Flower Fusion II, and the teal flower is from Fancy Pants. The pearl is out of the Pretties Kit and buckle is from the Aged Copper HodgePodge. The velvet ribbon is retired. I added a little paper piercing at the top and bottom. Sentiment is from the Holidays and Wishes set. A very simple card with hardly any stamping.

It's late so I am off to bed! Thank you for stopping by and happy stamping!!!
